Kahana Designs is a small, family-owned business rooted in the heart of Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i. We at Kahana Designs are lifelong islanders, and proud Native Hawaiians — and everything we create is an expression of the land, culture, and heritage we love deeply.
Our journey began with a shared passion for Hawaiian craftsmanship and a desire to share the beauty of our islands with the world in a way that feels honest and meaningful. As Native Hawaiians, our ancestry is not just a part of who we are — it is the foundation of everything we make. We take great pride in honoring that legacy through every piece that leaves our hands.
Our Lauhala Jewelry
Our handmade lauhala jewelry is woven by hand using hala leaves gathered locally from the beaches of Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa. We believe in keeping this tradition close to home — from the shoreline where the hala grows, to the hands that weave it, to the finished piece wrapped around gold plated earrings and bracelets. Each piece is one of a kind, shaped by the natural character of the leaf and the care put into every weave. When you wear our lauhala jewelry, you carry a piece of the Big Island with you.

Our art prints and clothing are inspired by the world we grew up in — the mythology passed down through generations, the sacred and beautiful places across the Hawaiian islands, the richness of Native Hawaiian culture, and the breathtaking natural life that surrounds us every day. We create these works not as observers, but as people who live and breathe this place. Our goal is to share that perspective in a way that resonates — whether you’re from here, have roots here, or simply feel a deep connection to Hawai’i.
