Hawaiian Lono God Canvas Wall Art
Lono stands crowned with banners of kapa cloth and surrounded by signs of harvest — taro, sweet potato, breadfruit.
The Scene
Lono stands across this canvas crowned with banners of kapa cloth and surrounded by signs of harvest — taro, sweet potato, breadfruit. The palette is earth-warm: ochre, brown, deep green, with the soft gold of a fertile season.
Lono is the Hawaiian god of agriculture, peace, rain, and fertility. His season is Makahiki — roughly four months between October and February — when war was forbidden, taxes were paid in produce, and the islands turned to celebration, sport, and rest. He is the god of plenty and of pause.
Where It Hangs
The piece fits beautifully in a dining room, a kitchen wall, or a home with a real garden. It's a gentle gift for someone who farms, who hosts, who marks seasons — anyone for whom abundance is a value rather than just a circumstance.
