The kohola is winter in Hawai'i made flesh — a singing, breaching, fifty-ton being that crosses an ocean to spend half a year in island waters. This tee honors that whole annual return.

From December through May, humpback whales (kohola) migrate from Alaskan feeding grounds to Hawai'i, one of the longest mammal migrations on earth. They calve, nurse, breed, and sing in the warm shallows between the islands. Male humpback songs are layered, complex, and evolve across seasons — every male in a population sings the same song, and it changes together. In Hawaiian tradition the kohola is honored as a creature of 'ohana, depth, and long memory.

For locals, the first kohola spout of the season is a moment of quiet community joy. For visitors who saw one breach against the horizon, this shirt is a souvenir that actually means something — a winter touched by giants.

Soft unisex tee. Multiple sizes and colorways available.
