The Story Behind Wild Rooster

If you've spent time on Kaua'i — or really anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands — you know the wild rooster. He struts through parking lots, crows at 4 a.m., and answers to absolutely no one. The island's feral chickens are descendants of birds that escaped during hurricanes Iwa (1982) and Iniki (1992), and they've been running the show ever since.

Far from an annoyance, locals have come to love these colorful, fearless birds as part of the island fabric — a reminder that Hawai'i has its own rules. The Wild Rooster tee is for anyone who's ever laughed at one of these guys or secretly admired his total disregard for the schedule.
